New issue today - downloads do not have any special characters in the questions even though they are there in the form - e.g. brackets and apostrophes.
This is a major problem when checking I have all the data downloaded as the checks now won’t match my source version.
Please investigate and fix,
Thanks,
Andy

@ATS - can you share screenshots of what you are seeing? that will help us troubleshoot
des
Hi Des,
Sure, here is a screenshot from the results page in the Typeform console compared to the Excel download.

This happens whether it is a full download of results, just selected responses and both csv and xlsx.
@ATS - have you tried the Connect feature to Excel? that should write the full string straight into the Excel table upon form submission. Excel is ‘known’ to strip those characters out on downloads into Excel.

Hi Des,
I haven’t tried the Connect feature for Excel - but this has never happened before today on the direct download feature.

@john.desborough
I have looked at sending the responses to Excel Online and like with Google Sheets the layout and questions are simply not the same as in the direct download so this is also not a viable solution to this issue. For example Google Sheets exports everything in a different order and with different headings and Excel Online adds a “1 - “, “2 - “ etc. to the front of all the questions which is completely unusable without additional cleanup by me.
As mentioned, the dropped characters was never a problem before last Friday so I do not think this is a known issue of stripping characters out.
Please urgently investigate this as currently I cannot efficiently use the downloads feature of Typeform that we as a business heavily rely on.

@ATS - raise a ticket with Typeform Support at this link.
This has now been resolved by the Typeform developers and is working again.
